As a starter

As a starter I'd like to post one of my favorite thought provoking poems. This is the original so far as I have been able to determine. I am working on my own version for the 21st Century and will publish it soon.

First They Came

And I did not speak out

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me
